House Renovation. Maunganui Road, Birkenhead.

The original structure was a mishmash of Styles that had been changed over the years. Burgess and Treep Architects cleverly redesigned the original 1970’s house.

Major reconstruction work was involved including demolition, excavation, installation of steel beams & complex timber framing. Commercial grade aluminum joinery was installed and the exterior reclad with Cedar Weather Boards on a cavity system.

The interior was completed to a high standard of finish. The interior floors were overlaid with oak. A new kitchen was installed complete with lacquered units, granite tops and new appliances.
Three new bathrooms were created using tiles glass and new plumbing fittings.

Large new timber decks using eucalyptus were created to make the most of the outdoor area.

Extensive glass use was the focus of this house to make the most of its outstanding views.
This involved using glass balustrades both inside and out.
